Do I need to make advance reservations to rent a vehicle?

Discounted rates require a reservation a minimum of 24 hours in advance of renting a vehicle.

Do I need a Montserrat driver's license to rent a car in Montserrat?

A valid driver's license is required for all operators of any vehicle in Montserrat. The license must be valid at the time of rental, and remain valid throughout the rental period. All drivers must meet driving requirements.

A valid driver's license can be issued by either of the two police station in Montserrat. If you need to arrange for a driver`s license, please let us know.

A Driver's Permit from your country of citizenship is required to obtain a temporary Montserrat driver`s license.

In addition, at the time of rental, the renter, authorized driver or additional driver may be required to sign a declaration attesting to the fact that they have a valid license that is not currently suspended, revoked, expired, cancelled or surrendered.
A temporary driver's license is acceptable only if it has no restrictions and is valid for the entire period of the rental.

Individuals with learner's permits may not operate a vehicle in Montserrat.

Can someone else drive the vehicle that I rent?

The following individuals, if 22 years of age or older and in possession of a valid driver's license, may drive the vehicle with the renter's prior permission:

Renter's employer (while on company business);
Renter's fellow employee (while on company business);
Renter's spouse or domestic partner.

The above additional drivers are considered "authorized drivers" and need not be present at the time of rental, nor do they need to sign an additional driver form.

Other individuals may be listed as additional drivers, provided they are at least 25 years of age; present a valid driver's license; present an Tip Top-honored charge card; and complete an additional driver form, available only at the rental counter. An additional driver fee may apply for each additional driver (see Additional Driver Fees for details and exceptions).

A maximum of two additional drivers can complete an additional driver form for a rental. Additional drivers who can drive the vehicle with the renter's permission (see Exceptions above) are not included in this requirement.

What are the age requirements for renting

The minimum age to rent a vehicle is 22.
A daily surcharge will apply to renters between 22-24 years old.
Restrictions on the size and type of vehicles apply to renters between 22-24 years old.

Is seat belt use mandatory in Montserrat

Montserrat has mandatory seat belt laws. Tip Top Enterprise encourages all drivers and passengers to always buckle up.

Is there an additional charge for more than one driver?

Additional driver fees may apply. Please inquire.

The following individuals are exempt from the fee but must be at least 25 years of age and in possession of a valid driver's license:

renter's employer or regular fellow employee when on company business
renter's spouse or domestic partner
renter's mate, life companion, significant other, live-in or similar
disabled renters who have completed the non-licensed renter form

Customer Service Questions
I got into an accident with my Tip Top vehicle; what do I do?

In the unlikely event of an accident, contact Tip Top Enterprise immediately. An accident involving bodily injury must be reported to police department in the community in which it occurred. The driver is required to complete and file a Tip Top Enterprise accident report, as well as any accident reports required by local authorities.

Does Tip Top have a lost and found department?

If you've left a personal item behind, immediately call Tip Top Enterprise so that the vehicle can be checked as soon as possible. The phone number will be listed on your rental agreement. We highly recommend that you report your lost item as soon as possible. We'll do our best to find it.

Please remember, however, that we are not responsible for items left behind.

Am I responsible for parking tickets and traffic violations?

Yes. Any parking tickets, traffic violations or tolls incurred by the renter remain the sole responsibility of the renter.

I forgot to return my vehicle keys. What do I do?

Please contact Tip Top Enterprise and mail in the keys via express service immediately. Please remember that you are responsible for the cost of replacing keys, which today can be very substantial.
